Saigon - Cu Chi Tunnels - Cao Dai Temple

Saigon - Cu Chi Tunnels - Cao Dai Temple

Saigon Cu Chi Tunnels TourTake a full-day tour to see 2 of Southern Vietnam’s most impressive structures. You will head north to the Great Holy See Temple at Tay Ninh, before transferring to the legendary Cu Chi Tunnels of the Viet Cong. The Great Holy See Temple was built in 1926 as the first temple and Holy See of the Cao Dai faith. Considered one of the most remarkable structures in all of Southeast Asia, it acts as the headquarters of this unique sect, which is a hybrid of Buddhism, Christianity and Confucianism. Look out for the all-seeing holy eye, the official symbol of Cao Dai, located above the temple entrance. Then attend the extravagant midday ceremony to witness how the Cao Dai followers conduct daily mass.

Have lunch before heading out to Cu Chi Tunnels which are an immense network of connecting underground tunnels located about 60km from Ho Chi Minh City (Saigon), and are part of a much larger network of tunnels that underlie much of the country. The Cu Chi tunnels were the location of several military campaigns during the Vietnam War. It is legendary for its tunnels system of over 200km. You will have an opportunity to crawl in hundreds meters of the tunnels system in some levels with innumerable trap doors, storage facilities, weapon factories, field hospitals, kitchens and command centers. Also, you can participate in fire off rounds from an AK47 or MK16 at the nearby firing range. Return back to Saigon in the late afternoon. Tour ends
